VAN

Located in eastern Turkey, near the city of Van, the Van Akdamar Monument Museum is a cultural and historical destination for tourists and locals alike. It is home to the famous Church of the Holy Cross, built in the 10th century and known for its intricately carved stone reliefs.

Nearby, visitors can explore the ancient ruins of Hosap Castle, a fortified structure that dates back to the Seljuk Empire in the 12th century. The castle offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

Further afield are the Van Castle Ruins, an ancient fortress that dates back to the Urartian period, around 1000 BC. This impressive site offers a glimpse into the region’s earliest history, with its mighty walls and towers still standing after thousands of years.

Tour Program

Day 1 – Arrival at Trabzon Airport, transfer to Hotel, overnight dinner (extra).

Day 2 – After breakfast Trabzon and Sumela Monastery tour, dinner (extra) and overnight in Trabzon.

Day 3 – Trabzon – Uzungöl – Erzurum. Dinner (extra) and overnight in Erzurum

Day 4 – Erzurum tour and continue to Kars on the way stopping over in Sarikamis and overnight in Kars, dinner (extra).

Day 5 – Full Day Kars tour starting with Ani Ancient City, return back to Kars and visit Kars forth, then Fethiye Mosque, small streets of Kars and to see the beautiful Baltic buildings from the Russian period. Overnight at Hotel, dinner (extra).

Day 6 – After breakfast depart for Van, stopping in Doğu Beyazıt to visit the amazing Ishak Pasha Palace and for lunch break. Continue to Van and overnight, dinner (extra).

Day 7 – Full day tour of Van. Visiting Akdamar Island, famous Van cats breeding place and after lunch break continue to Hosap Castle on the way stopping Çavuştepe. Overnight in Van, dinner (extra).

Day 8 – After breakfast very early departure for Adıyaman Kahta, reach Kahta summit in time before sunset time to see the Commonage Kingdom’s burial place, visit both East and West Terraces and watch the amazing sunset. Return to Adıyaman, dinner and overnight at Hotel, Adıyaman.

Day 9 – Adıyaman – to Cappadocia. You will reach Cappadocia in the afternoon, might have enough time for a short panoramic tour. Check into Tourist Hotel which is located right in front of Göreme Open Air Museum, Kaymaklı Underground City, Üçhisar Castle, Ihlara Valley Ruins, Pasabag Valley in Zelve, Avanos Village . Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

Day 10 – Optional Hot Air Balloon ride can be arranged for people who would like join in the morning at sunrise time which is the most spectacular way to see the Cappadocia landscape. After breakfast full day Cappadocia Tour visiting Göreme Open Air Museum hiking in Red Valley followed by Kaymaklı Underground City. Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

Day 11 – After breakfast transfer to Airport.
